Parents away...

My parents left for Korea on Sunday for a 5 -day prayer and fast thingy with their church mates. There's about 100 plus of them going, so it's kinda a big affair for the church. My sis and bro-in-law went last yr. So this yr, it's my parents' turn.

They will be kinda "stranded" on a prayer mountain all day for 5 days, wake up at 6am and juz worship, pray and listen to sermon. My dad has gastric problems, so it's kinda challenging for him to go on a 5 day fast. But, i'm really proud of him that he took up the challenge. Pray that this trip will be a refreshing one for Dad and Mum whereby they can jus slow down their pace and spend time with God.

In the meantime, T & I are stranded in SIngapore. :) The young adults celebrated T's birthday last sun and T is finally 30! <> How time files. To me frankly, birthday celebrations are just celebrations. Ultimately, i just want him to be happy! My birthday wish for him: That he will stay healthy and be what God wants him to be.

church camp 08

Back from our 5-day church camp in KL!

With none of us knowing the way, we drove up to KL with 3 cars, 3 walkie talkies, 1 GPS. Beside meeting the objective of being the tool for directions liasing, the walkie talkie has indeed served a greater purpose: To entertain the guyz during their long drive as they crack stupid jokes over the talkie.

Our guest speakers: The Herbsters who travelled to KL with us!
( Mark, Amy, Megan & Madison)
check out their ministry: www.herbsterevangelism.org
Great to have them around and share about their ministry in US.

Our camp site. It's actually a golf resort. So there's pretty good vew. Excellent service!

Shopping with the gals in KL. Diana( front) has come all the way back from US to join us for this camp. Welcome back Diana! We miss you! she's currently at Northland Baptist Bible College doing her masters Biblical Counselling. www.nbbc.edu

tomorrow tomorrow.

i'm meeting the renewal church gals tomorrow for dinner!
Sue, Cheri & Joobee.

Yipee!
We've been hanging out in church together since sec days until Bee left for Wesley n i left for BFC during our Uni days.

Interesting how we click together despite our extreme personalities.

1) SUSAN- TJ Counseller with Bee. That's how Bee brought her to church. And becoz Bee is my good fren, 3 of us kinda goes out together. We r the only 3 NTU Acc/ Biz gals in church and we kinda speak the same biz lingo. Perhaps that's why we kinda gel.

2) CHERI- My Baptist debate gal!!:P I remember the days Bee & I teased and debated with her about her " then" super Baptist bf and his doctrine stand. Who would have known she ended up marrying a Charismatic while i ended up marrying a Baptist! haha. role reversal!

3) JOOBEE- The RGS gal who dragged me this old fashioned DHS gal to bead my hair with her! My parents got the shock of my life when they saw my hair! My confidante. Someone who has seen the most crazy side of me and able to take it! She's the scholar of us!

To all these super frens! love u.....mucks!!! caught my kiss?:P

Lotsofsu.....@ Keppel Island

Presenting lots of su.................my good old fren, Susan from my old church. Good time of catching up with her. Been a long time since we last met! Meeting up with her brings back lostsa old memories. I'm quite a sentimental person! She's such a dear sister to me. Watched her grow from a young believer to being baptised and grow to be the cell group leader of today. It's been such a blessing! In life, there are far more things that blesses my heart than what money can give. And, this is exactly that same feeling i have while i watch God change the life and heart of this dear sister. It's the feeling when God comforts u in ur sorrow. And u know that , in ur tears, God has held u tight in His arms. something that blesses and warms ur heart.

soup delight!

Steak pretty heavy! so for soups,i'm kinda looking at "lighter mild"soups, more refreshing and less overwhelming. After all, in marketing, it's always keep the main "main" and the sides" sides". I wouldn't wanna the side dishes to overdorminate the taste buds.

SOups i found.

http://www.simplysoups.com/souprecipes/ColdSoups.htm

- Chilled Lemon Soup
- Chilled Tomato and Avocado Soup
-Cold Cucumber and Yogurt Soup
-Gazpacho

Most prob i'll go 4 the lemon soup or avocada soup!!

wat's 4 dinner?

Hubby's birthday coming in 2 wks time.
And we figured that we will stay at home tis yr n enjoy some peace at home. Beside, T quite a homely guy and he kinda enjoys jus lazing around with good food n company. Away with all the noisy restaurants where we lack privacy. Somehow, we juz wanna be alone this yr. Just the 2 of us in our own world!

he's been such a great hubby n i really wanna make it something special for him tis yr, especially when it marks the start of his manhood " 30s''. haha......

So, tis time round, due to his carnivore nature, theme is " western".i'm thinking more like candles, candles and more candles. Ive never had many candles in my house, only aroma oils. So, this round, i;m going to try candles, candles and aroma oils. wonder how it goes. most prob hubby won;t appreciate the candles n i tink i'll have more fun playing with the candles than him! haha...quite fun to tink of it. It;s my own house and i can jolly well paint it in watever colour i like and light as many candles as i want, as long as i dun burn down the place. FUN!!!!:P

Ok. Food!
Hubby requested steak. He's an adventurous eater and dislikes anything normal. Well, that;'s the only criteria i consider in my search. Pretty narrow search, very focussed.

So, look what i'vee found:
Interesting!

http://bbq.about.com/od/steakrecipes/Steak_Recipes_Recipes_for_every_cut_and_kind_of_steak.htm

Grilled Steak with Olive and Stilton Cheese SauceThis great steak recipe includes an excellent sauce that can turn any steak into something fantastic. Lee suggests using garlic stuffed green olives and says this recipe is great for venison.

Maytag Blue T-Bone There's just something about the combination of a good steak and good blue cheese. This simle recipe is a great way to dress up a steak, particularly if it's not the best quality.

Mandarin Skirt SteakThe tangerines used in this marinade not only tenderizes but adds a great flavor to the skirt steak. Remember that skirt steak tends to be tough to you need a good strong marinade to keep this steak from being tough.

Olive Stuffed SteakThis is a great way to turn an everyday chuck roast into a great gourmet steak. By marinating the chuck roast you make it tender. By stuffing olives into the meat you give it a great texture and a whole lot of flavor.

Three Pepper Stuffed SteaksThese steaks are stuffed with flavor. This is a great way to turn a less than perfect steak into a great meal.

Blue Cheese-Walnut SteaksThese grilled steaks are rubbed down with rosemary and garlic, then served up with a great blue cheese, walnut sauce. I really great way to make a better steak.

Papaya Flank SteakPapaya is the greatest natural tenderizer. Sandwiching the flank steak between papaya slices will be enough to make this the tenderist flank steak you have ever eaten.

Tequila SteaksThe tequila in this marinade adds a lot of great flavor to this steak. This is one of those you really have to try.

Italian Dressing Marinated SteaksOne of the best marinades you can buy is Italian Dressing. The combination of oil and vinegar with herbs and spices make it both flavorful and powerful. This is one the the best shortcuts to marinating meat.

That's for the main. Guess, i gotta do some soup, salad n dessert research!

Amidst the home cooked food, there's goota be a GiGanTic surprise for Mr Leong! haha....tis is exciting!!!! so exciting!

maybe i'm enjoying his birthday more than him! haha.....

HOM

HOM!! i'm seriously Hooked On Massage!

Ever since i indulged in Javanese Massage in KL June Camp, went for my " Tui Na" Massage at Elements Spa with my colleagues, my "luvmassage" genes is back!!! Decided to pamper my MIL whois a spa fanatic, so sis-in- law n i made an appt this sat at Kenko Spa @ Singapore Flyer for Fish Spa & Shoulders massage. i'm really looking forward to this treat.

Though i've left the Spa industry, i still love all the SPAEY thingy!!! :P

So, in the meantime, i'm planning the next massage! This time round, hopefully the massage comes with a scrub. Now, what is a massage without a scrub?
